ThanksgivingCares™ is an outreach program of the Leadership Cares Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.  The mission of the Leadership Cares Foundation is to provide leadership training to fortify today’s youth and adults with marketable skills to take into the workplace and provide a training ground to nurture self-confidence, personal responsibility and the value of service to others.  Over the past seven years, 2800 families and over 16,000 family members have been helped.  During these difficult economic times, the need for help is even greater for families in the Washington, DC area.

Here is how you and your organization can help…

For a tax deductible donation of $15.00 your organization can adopt a local family. There is no limit to the number of families you and your organization can adopt.  Each family will receive a complete basket of ingredients to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to feed up to eight people.  Little extras such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap and gift certificates will also be included.  An army of volunteers made up of local caring adults, young mentors and mentees involved in our MentorCares™ program and other student groups help to pack and deliver food baskets.  Families in need will receive their food baskets on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week.
